No we do not support violence or vandalism but much more importantly are appalled at using the military against civilians exercising their 1st Amendment rights. Large crowds always beget some level of friction and confrontation only makes it worse. The city of Los Angeles has plenty of law enforcement as does the state. They did NOT request federal intervention which by the way is supposed to come from the governor by law. What ICE has become and is doing is far, far worse than some isolated acts of vandalism. But of course right wing zealots always want to fall back on the law and order excuse for imposing their will. Trump’s actions don’t pass the bullshit test - street demonstrations in LA are a national emergency but the January 6th attack on the Capitol was a peaceful gathering. WTF are we becoming as a nation.

And like I said to Dougie. The Mayor of Portland felt the same way about the police and the national guard until rioters showed up at his residence and then he was crying for help from the cops.

So you are saying by your logic that if you reduced the police force by 400 guys, the rioters would go away? I am all for peaceful demonstration. But when you start burning shit you cross the line. How would you deal with the situation?
