My income is well under $20K, so I can't afford to support all the Substacks I would like to (or, uh, any of them), but I absolutely did preorder your book. Congratulations, and I do hope that the strikes of this summer do change the labor conversation in an election year.
Congrats on finishing the book! I've been working on one for longer than you have been alive, but now inspired to finish it before time, who accepts no excuse in the end, runs out. Your dad always told me the secret to writing a book - "keep your butt in the chair." Apparently, you did that enough to get it done. I will buy it from my favorite local, progressive bookstore - Odyssey Books in S. Hadley, MA. Enjoying your column as well.
Hi! I'm pre-ordering your book right now and can't wait to read it! I just wanted to say that I'm a bit disappointed that you list Amazon as a retailer to purchase the book from. Of course, people will find their way to Amazon eventually but why not steer them away from Amazon and toward other retailers? Jane McAlevey specifically tells her readers not to order from Amazon: https://janemcalevey.com/retailers-for-rules-to-win-by/ .
Pre-ordered. Looking forward to learning more about something I know less well than I should. But mostly looking forward to reading more words from the funniest, most underappreciated punch-you-in-the-face writer out there.
Pre-order is in! I enjoy your writing - not just the content but the style - so I'm sure that I'll like the book. (Also, as my attention span has been battered by a couple of decades of internet, thank you and your editor for keeping the length to 300 or so pages. Much longer than that for me these days and a book does become like a job.)
A question: Are there some recent unionization efforts that have self-destructed? Basically some "how-not-to" lessons out there?
Anyway, enjoy the trees and do not be afraid to hug some and talk to them a little bit. They won't answer, but they'll listen.
Thank you Charles. There are always failed union drives along the way but in the big picture it's better to have more attempts and have some fail than to have less attempts.

Thank you and I really appreciate it.

Thank you Tom! Yeah just keep typing and eventually you will reach the end.
I will pre-order, but not from anti union Amazon :-)
I ordered it through my local bookstore. I like to support them and this way store staff will see it and perhaps be interested in stocking it.
I smashed that pre-order button fast and hard.
“Please pre order my book, I don’t think it sucks” was all I needed to hear. Been excited for this one.
Already pre-ordered, eagerly awaiting February reading (and thinking)!
And you are right about Teamsters/UPS peace through worker strength.
But it would have been a big deal had they gone out. Wow.
Have a good and beneficial time in the woods.
Listen for the owls!
Preordered!
Hamilton Nolan, you are fabulous!

I just pre ordered. I believe in you 100 percent.
