Wow, what a glorious piece of writing and a wonderful way to start the day. We need this kind of leader/representative everywhere. Thank you for writing this.

It's worth mentioning that AOC was outspent 10 to 1 by incumbent fossil Joe Crowley, and look what happened...This has the same vibe...Just sayin' and crossing fingers

So *many* anti-Zohran mailers in the last 3 weeks, it's sick! Someone feels threatened and is VERY frightened.

I voted early (and made sure to do it on Juneteenth). *How come* can't we have nice things?

RIGHT? It SO stinks of desperation...The 'SOCIALST!!!' boogeyman isn't exactly a winning fear strategy in NYC

The mailers and also the Facebook ads show Zohran in 'Middle Eastern-style' clothing, either a patterned shirt or a robe, to reinforce the fact that he's Muslim (and therefore 'scary' or 'anti-Jewish'). The blatant OBVIOUSNESS of what they're doing astonishes me.

What's even MORE depressing is the people who can't see THROUGH that obvious propaganda...

First, that Cuomo is in the running and leading in the polls is sickening. He's not a good guy.

Second, reading this lovely piece, so vivid, put tears of hope in my eyes and this is not a common occurrence. Thank you, Hamilton.

What a great article...It made me want to vote for him! (Which, alas, I cannot do because I live in DC.)

Your piece is so wonderfully written. If I lived in NYC, I'd vote for him. It's refreshing to see this sort of ground level excitement for someone who appears to be a decent human?

And I thought only real democratic socialism was alive and healthy here in Europe. It's wonderful to be wrong. Forza Zohan!

"one thing that distinguishes Zohran from most of them is that, in my judgment, he looks genuinely happy doing this. He seems to actually like people."

Though he is not nearly as left as Zohran, this is still a pretty apt description of NC's AG, Jeff Jackson. I've met him a couple of times and he seems to genuinely enjoy meeting and talking with people. That seems to be a rare quality among those seeking political office, unfortunately.

Anyway, I'm pulling for Zohran from NC.

I love the brief vignettes of the teenage girl and the fierce pregnant campaign volunteer so much! Also the ad lib of the text of the opposition flier and who funds their PAC made me lol.
