"The difference is down to whether you are in tune with the spirit of New York City. If you are, then every door shall open to you and you shall witness the beauty of the metropolis dropping its harsh mask and welcoming you as a member of its community of love. If not, keep standing in that line." I have never agreed with anything more in my life.

"With their pink cheeks and red MAGA visors and frat bro demeanor, those young men embodied a significant slice of the Trump fan base. The blocks around 34th street were dripping with the boy scouts of fascism, the unlucky youth who have never found a proper method of rebellion and have been left with this."

Too bad nobody bought those kids a guitar so they could play shitty punk music in their parents' basement like we did. Saved my life, it did.

Hey, right on: the Clown show? 'Tis dwindling away. Update: NYC is where I moved post fall as an ironworker working on permit. Blessed that NY Rehab paid for college. So true: miss the energy, the unpredictable. And great stories--busing tables, driving a limo, graduating from NYU, MA from TC Columbia. Like John Short said to me at the White Horse Tavern: "A town so nice, they named it twice: New York, New York." May the Trump clown show--like a huge balloon with a small leak--drift far away.

well done -- I can imagine the hushed conversations in the SUV or mega-pick up on the way to MSG, the heightened sense of imminent danger as they enter the city limits. Will we get mugged? What if there's a riot? What if 'those people' try to do something to us?

IMHO, the fact that people who attended that rally were made to wait in (unnecessary) lines, was to trick them, and those outside watching, that there was a huge outpouring of support for Trump. Another flim-flam with smoke and mirrors from DJT.

That really wouldn't be surprising.

Disney parks often clear out the internal queue and let the entire line snake around outside the ride, especially late in the day when they want to discourage people from getting in line.

As you point out, there's no practical reason for Madison Square Garden to do that. Except to (pretend to) compete with the lines, and crowds, outside Harris and Walz rallies.

Was there an actual attendance figure released? I don't even know the capacity of MSG.

19,500.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they deliberately bottlenecked admission so they could show the tangerine toddler how long his lines are.

Totally. For him, and for the TV cameras.

"He doesn’t have the juice. The circus is trotting out the same acts every day, and they are losing their capacity to captivate. It feels like the bullshit machine has run out of gas and is now coasting on pure momentum."

Watch this one minute video highlights clip from his Nazi rally. What Trump thinks of Puerto Ricans, Latinos and Haitians - in English, Spanish and French.

Queens is one of the five boroughs and is therefore within the "city limits" of New York City
