Best thing I read all month, wanted to quote every paragraph.

Same. Next book on my list is ‘Abolish Rent’ by Tracy Rosenthal to dive deeper on the topic.

I love this. There’s no other way to move the needle of any issue involving large groups of people than educating and organizing, whether that means withholding labor or withholding your rent.

Great work! Definitely see the growth in this movement.

It's rare that I read something really innovative like this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.

The 'Landlords not ready' part is a power position for tenants

“As soon as the landlord hears that people are organizing, they come in and fix a lot of shit. “

let’s make it a public service announcement

Great article! You know Warren Buffet/Berkshire Hathaway owns many 55+ communities aka trailer/mobile home communities which sell for an average $225K+. Plus the houses are all stacked next to each other with no room for privacy. The land rent is $1500+ monthly in my market and it doesn’t even include taxes which is another $200-$300+ a month depending where you live. Plus, you have to buy their houses with all cash! Time to eat the rich.

A little late, but this was published in the Chicago Reader last week and it’s very much connected: https://chicagoreader.com/books/book-review/abolish-rent-haymarket-books/

Another outstanding article. Thanks for elevating tenant's rights as a critical and under-discussed part of the housing debate. I quoted you in a piece I wrote: https://open.substack.com/pub/frankspesia/p/follow-the-money-part-2-housing?r=2qxph7&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&showWelcomeOnShare=true

Musk on Twitter this week:

"In most cases, the word “homeless” is a lie.

It’s usually a propaganda word for violent drug addicts with severe mental illness."

But tell me again republicans are the solution.

Musk should know. Malignant narcissistic megalomania is a mental illness. His own drug use of ecstasy, cocaine ketamine and LSD has his board members at Tesla and SpaceX worried. Maybe that’s why most of his business ventures are complete jokes.
