it's wild how many incredibly talented journalists got their start at Gawker and Jez. Great job thus far and keep at it Nolan you're doing such important work. Thank you for keeping your publication free. I'm probably not the only one who has a number of writers they enjoy but can't afford them all at once so does kind of a rotation of a couple subscriptions.
Since you told the fascinating story about Martin Luther King Jr in St Augustine, at least I now understand your interest in alligators. I once heard a bunch of Floridians chanting on the streets of the French Quarter just before the Sugar Bowl, “it's great / to be /a Florida Gator, oh it's great / to be / a Florida Gator!”
You’re the best, dude. Thank you for all the work that you do.
I’m currently considering a career change, one that offers two tracks: union, or non-union. If I make this change, I’m choosing the former, and it’s because of the work you’ve done here.
I was a paid subscriber, but felt there were too many repetitive columns about Labor and the need for unionization. All true but you'd proven the case. Now, I'm seeing more diversity in the work and re-subscribing as paid.
Congrats on another milestone, Hamilton. Yours was the first Substack publication that I subscribed to, having been a fan of your writing for In These Times. The latest newsletter from the head of the Massachusetts Teachers Association (of which I have been a member for 37 years) has a section that talks about how the state's pension fund is used to invest in bad stuff, and includes a link to the union's Pension Task Force that's trying to correct that, and to your ITT piece, "Pensions can be labor's weapon" (which you also wrote about here).
I actually prefer to have a "donate" button so I can make a one-time donation when I'm feeling flush, but that's just me. Managing subscriptions is a pain in the ass.
HamNo can you do a post where you highlight some other writers that you like enough to recommend? Short of just trying to remember some old gawker writers it’s kind of hard to find people worth reading.
Hamilton, please consider writing about how things could work if we all focused on what the future should look like. I've prepared my thoughts on this at www.informedcitizens.com, but believe there are millions of people of reason and goodwill that will participate in this effort if leaders like you provide the opportunity.

Yours is my favorite substack, and I own an autographed copy of THE HAMMER.
A t-shirt that read “WE EAT FASCISTS”
would be a best seller, and a great Christmas
present!
Good idea, mysterious stranger.
I’d buy the shit out of that.
Great idea! A variation might be “This t-shirt kills fascists” (a la Woody Guthrie).

You’re doing a fine job!
Always appreciate your clear thinking, and also thanks for the photo from my favorite weird Florida zoo!
Congrats Hamilton! One of the only newsletters I always read.

Thank you for everything. I can give a little to your fund and when I can I will pay my subscription <3
Thank you for your great work. Always thoughtful and engaging.
Hey, my dogs are pretty demanding and I'm still here supporting you with my dollars. And if I can do it...

There is a recommendations box on the site with a whole bunch of other substack publications I recommend.
Thanks, sir. I usually read the posts in my email so this is helpful to know.

The Getting Yelled at by Dumbasses link is incorrect.
